This was an Ampex Professional Reel-to-Reel, Mono of course, that my father sold in the early sixties (to a radio station) to purchase a Crown 800 and a couple of Revox’s stereo reels and rack mount them in what we called the “Hi-Fi Room”.

1986-1996 Executive Producer/Assistant News Director WIBW-TV, Topeka, KS Produced newscasts, series reporting, and weekly Crime Stoppers report. Oversaw the operation of the UNIX computer system serving all news, radio, and networks Managed daily web site Coordinated election result gathering for local and state elections and special reports. I broke ground in 1988 by putting real-time election results from our television broadcast on the internet. We were the test case for the firm that supplied our newsroom computer software. Here’s what those first results looked like.
